Instant access to RAID online learning. Begin your progression immediately.

Why Choose The RAID Normoxic Decompression Diver (60m Trimix) Course?

The RAID Normoxic Decompression Diver (60m Trimix) course is your transition into true deep mixed-gas diving. Using normoxic trimix, you achieve significantly reduced narcosis, improved clarity, and safer gas density at depths where air and limited trimix reach their performance limits.

This course is designed for divers committed to structured deep exploration, advanced decompression control, and the disciplined operational mindset required at 60 metres. You will refine every aspect of your buoyancy, trim, gas planning, ascent stability, and team awareness while managing full mixed-gas decompression profiles.

The 60m normoxic qualification is the gateway to hypoxic trimix, expedition-level technical diving, and advanced overhead environments.

What This Course Helps You Achieve

  • Competent, controlled mixed-gas diving to 60m / 200ft

  • Dramatically reduced narcosis and improved cognitive clarity at depth

  • Mastery of multi-stage, multi-gas decompression plans

  • Advanced ascent and decompression discipline

  • Skill development required for hypoxic trimix training

  • Increased situational awareness and safety margins at depth

What You'll Learn In The Normoxic Decompression Diver Course

You will develop the skills, knowledge, and performance capability required to operate safely and confidently at deeper mixed-gas depths. Training includes:

  • Planning and executing normoxic trimix dives to 60m

  • Selecting appropriate trimix blends for depth, conditions, and task loading

  • Managing END, gas density, and thermal considerations

  • Conducting extended multi-stage decompression schedules

  • Emergency planning for deep mixed-gas failures and bailout

  • Advanced ascent discipline, including micro-stop control

  • Stage cylinder handling and precise gas-switch execution

  • Team communication and situational awareness at 60m

This course builds your competence, confidence, and situational awareness as a new OC Trimix diver.

Mastering the Core Normoxic Trimix Skills

Training is structured into three tightly engineered phases to ensure complete mastery before progressing to hypoxic training.

Step 1: Online Learning

Complete all RAID academic modules covering:

  • Normoxic trimix theory

  • END calculations & gas density limits

  • Decompression modelling & deep-stop strategies

  • Safe PO₂, OTU, and CNS exposure limits

  • Advanced gas planning & emergency options

  • Managing stress, task loading, and team procedures at depth

Step 2: In-Water Skills

You will complete a skills-focused confined session to master:

  • Full stage-cylinder setup for multiple decompression gases

  • Precision gas-switch protocols

  • Stability drills under task loading

  • Valve drills (twinset or sidemount)

  • SMB deployments with deep-water simulation

  • Skill refinement for long, controlled decompression holds

Step 3: Open Water Dives

Your open-water training includes multiple staged decompression dives with:

  • Multiple mixed-gas deco dives to 60m

  • Realistic decompression profiles with extended holds

  • Team situational awareness and deep communication

  • Simulated emergency exercises at depth

  • Full ascent discipline with accurate stop timing

  • Multi-gas switch execution under pressure

  • Deco management using trimix principles
