Begin Your Trimix Journey With Precision, Safety, and Confidence
Instant access to your online learning, course preparation modules. Begin training immediately.
The RAID Limited Trimix Decompression Diver (45m) course is your first progression into helium-based diving, combining the familiarity of air/nitrox with the benefits of a small helium component to reduce narcosis, improve clarity, and enhance diver performance at depth.
This course is ideal for divers who want a safe, structured introduction to trimix without the complexity of full mixed-gas training. Building on your existing decompression skills, you’ll gain the confidence and competence to complete planned decompression dives to 45 metres / 148 feet, using a light trimix blend and up to two decompression gases, including 100% oxygen.
Stuart’s training approach ensures you gain mastery of gas planning, decompression discipline, and ascent control — key foundations for deeper trimix levels.
Reduced narcosis & improved cognition at depth
More stable buoyancy and ascent control under stress
Efficient gas planning using helium components
Safe execution of planned multi-stage decompression
The technical discipline required for deeper trimix pathways
Training blends theory, practical skills, and real-world decompression procedures to build your capability as a developing technical diver.
Plan and execute decompression dives to 45m using Air/Nitrox/Light Trimix
Manage PO₂ exposure, END calculations, and safe helium blending limits
Conduct precise ascent profiles with controlled stops
Execute safe and efficient stage cylinder handling
Deploy SMBs and reels under task loading
Respond to extended-range emergencies and gas failures
Maintain stable buoyancy and trim during long decompression holds
Apply team protocols for advanced technical dive communication
This course builds your competence, confidence, and situational awareness as a new OC Trimix diver.
Max Depth: 45 metres (148 feet)
Breathing Gases: Air, Nitrox, light Trimix
Decompression Gases: Up to 2 (up to 100% O₂)
Mandatory Decompression: Yes
Configuration: Twinset or Sidemount
Primary Focus: Reduced narcosis & improved performance (limited helium)
Program Length: Online academics + confined water + minimum open-water requirements
Prerequisite Pathway: Follows 40m/45m Air/Nitrox Decompression Diver

To enrol in the RAID Rebreather Diver course, you must meet the following requirements:
Be 18 years or older
Hold RAID Decompression Diver (40m/45m Air/Nitrox) certification
Hold RAID Nitrox certification
Have logged at least 50 dives, including:
10 dives deeper than 27m
10 decompression or staged training dives
Be medically fit for technical diving
Complete all RAID documentation and online registration
Your training follows RAID’s structured technical progression, beginning with foundation theory, refining your skills in confined water, and culminating in advanced open-water execution.
Complete all RAID academic modules covering:
Decompression theory
Gas planning with limited helium
END, gas density, and safe limits
Oxygen exposure management
Buoyancy, trim, stability & ascent discipline
Emergency decompression protocols
Stage cylinder and gas-switch safety
You will complete a skills-focused confined session to master:
Stage cylinder setup and handling
Controlled gas switches
Neutral buoyancy during task loading
Valve drills (twinset/sidemount)
SMB deployment from depth
Simulated failures and emergency ascent drills
Your open-water training includes multiple staged decompression dives with:
Limited trimix breathing gas
Multi-stop decompression schedules
Team protocols and emergency procedures
Stress-resistant ascent control
Real-world decompression discipline under supervision

Conduct planned decompression dives to 45m
Use light trimix as the primary gas
Use up to two decompression gases, including 100% oxygen
Execute multi-level decompression schedules
Plan and manage extended gas strategies for 45m diving
The 45m Limited Trimix certification is the gateway to deeper, more capable technical diver qualifications:
➜ Advanced Decompression Diver (50m Trimix)
➜ Normoxic Trimix Diver (60m)
➜ Hypoxic Trimix Diver (80–100m)
➜ Full expedition-level mixed gas pathways
Your instructor trains you directly on the same configuration dive gear as you'll be diving. All confined and open-water sessions are closely supervised for safety, mastery, and confidence-building. Stuart’s instruction blends disciplined skill development with the confidence-building mentorship required for advanced technical exploration.
