Your Next Step Into Deeper, Planned Mixed-Gas Technical Diving
Instant access to your online learning, course preparation modules. Begin training immediately.
The RAID Advanced Decompression Diver (50m Trimix) course builds directly on your previous decompression training and introduces you to more capable, stable, and safer deep-diving gas strategies using trimix. At this level, you will refine your existing decompression skills, improve your depth performance, and learn to manage multi-gas procedures with precision.
Confident execution of mixed-gas decompression to 50 metres / 165 feet
Reduced narcosis and improved clarity at deeper depths
More efficient ascent planning and advanced gas-switch discipline
Enhanced buoyancy, trim, and stress-resistant control during long stops
The skill base required for 60m Normoxic Trimix Diver training
The RAID Advanced Decompression Diver (50m Trimix) program deepens your knowledge and ability to operate safely on structured decompression dives using helium-based breathing gas.
Planning and executing multi-stage decompression dives to 50m
Understanding END limits, gas density, and helium advantages
Selecting trimix blends appropriate for depth and task loading
Developing precision ascent discipline with controlled stops
Emergency procedures for deep mixed-gas diving
Stage cylinder and gas-switch protocols under realistic conditions
Dive team communication at extended-range depth
Problem-solving strategies under narcosis and task load
This course develops the control and capability required for deeper normoxic trimix diving.
Max Depth: 50 metres (165 feet)
Breathing Gases: Trimix (helium + O₂ + nitrogen)
Decompression Gases: Up to 2 (including 100% O₂)
Mandatory Decompression: Yes
Configuration: Twinset or Sidemount
Focus: Stable deep-diving performance using trimix
Program Length: Online academics + confined-water session + open-water training
Ideal Progression: 45m Limited Trimix → 50m Advanced Trimix → 60m Normoxic Trimix

To enrol in the RAID Advanced Decompression Diver (50m Trimix) course, you must:
Be 18 years or older
Be certified as a RAID Limited Trimix Decompression Diver (45m) or equivalent
Hold RAID Nitrox certification
Have logged at least 60 dives, including:
10 dives deeper than 30m
Multiple decompression dives
Be medically fit for technical diving
Complete all RAID student registration and documentation requirements
Your training follows RAID's staged technical progression, ensuring mastery before deeper mixed-gas development.
Complete all RAID academic modules covering:
Advanced decompression theory & gas modelling
Gas density, END limits, and helium considerations
Deep emergency protocols
Multi-stage dive planning
Ascent management and operational discipline
Advanced gas-switch procedures
Dive-team protocols for deeper trimix dives
You will complete a skills-focused confined session to master:
Mixed-gas cylinder rigging & stage management
Controlled gas-switch execution
Precision buoyancy & trim under task load
Valve drills (twinset/sidemount)
SMB deployment from depth
Simulated failures, including deep bailout strategies
Your open-water training includes multiple staged decompression dives with:
Trimix as the primary breathing gas
Realistic decompression schedules up to 50m
Multi-stop ascent management
Scenario-based emergency training
Team situational awareness under narcosis-reduction conditions
Instant access to your online learning, course preparation modules. Begin training immediately.

Conduct mixed-gas decompression dives to 50m / 165ft
Use trimix as your primary breathing gas
Use up to two decompression gases
Execute full multi-level decompression schedules
Safe trimix blending & END limits must be observed
This qualification opens progression to deeper and more advanced RAID technical programs:
➜ Normoxic Trimix Diver (60m)
➜ Hypoxic Trimix Diver (80–100m)
➜ Technical expedition pathways & advanced decompression programs
Your instructor trains you directly on the same configuration dive gear as you'll be diving. All confined and open-water sessions are closely supervised for safety, mastery, and confidence-building. Stuart’s instruction blends disciplined skill development with the confidence-building mentorship required for advanced technical exploration.
