The RAID Advanced Decompression Diver course is the definitive natural progression for divers certified at the Deco 40 level who are seeking to expand their diving abilities and take on new challenges. This program utilizes a modern approach to technical training, combining graphic-rich manuals with expert instruction to equip you for deeper exploration. It is the perfect opportunity to push your limits and explore the depths of the ocean safely while discovering breathtaking wrecks and mesmerizing sea creatures.
This advanced course will equip you with the knowledge and expertise to safely navigate depths of up to 50 meters (165 feet). You will achieve the capability to complete dives that:
Mandatory decompression stops lasting up to 30 minutes
Utilize independent decompression gases
Safe execution of multi-stage decompression diving
The technical discipline required for deeper trimix pathways
Technical Staged Decompression: Master the latest techniques and technology for managing complex decompression profiles.
Gas Logistics: Learn to safely utilize air, nitrox, or oxygen for optimized decompression.
Buoyancy Excellence: Focus on managing skill mastery while remaining neutrally buoyant throughout the dive.
Advanced Equipment Setup: Refine your technical equipment configuration to ensure a consistent and reliable approach to diving.
Operational Precision: Gain the expertise needed to navigate deep environments using accelerated decompression gases.
Max Depth: 50 metres (165 feet)
Breathing Gases: Air, Nitrox, Oxygen
Decompression Gases: Up to 2 (up to 100% O₂)
Mandatory Decompression: Yes
Configuration: Twinset or Sidemount
Program Length: Online academics + confined water + minimum open-water requirements
Training Volume: Minimum of one confined water session and eight open water dives.

To enrol in the RAID Rebreather Diver course, you must meet the following requirements:
Be 18 years or older
Be a certified diver for at least 3 months.
Be certified as a RAID Nitrox, Deep 40, and Master Rescue Diver or equivalent.
Have logged at least 75 dives, including:
5 hours between 27m–40m.
Submit current Rescue Breathing, CPR Training, and Oxygen Provider certificates.
Complete all RAID documentation and online registration
Your training follows RAID’s structured technical progression, beginning with foundation theory, refining your skills in confined water, and culminating in advanced open-water execution.
Complete 6 academic manuals and quizzes covering:
Equipment: Specialized tools and configurations for deep technical diving.
Physics & Physiology: Deepwater gas dynamics and advanced nitrogen management.
Management: Robust dive planning and contingency protocols.
Training Preparation: Theoretical knowledge required for confined and open water sessions.
You will complete a skills-focused confined session to master:
Master Neutral Buoyancy: Perform all skills while maintaining perfect trim and position in the water column.
Technical Drills: Practice emergency procedures and drill skills until they become automatic.
Gas Switching: Master the protocols for switching to accelerated decompression gases.
Propulsion: Refine technical propulsion techniques for efficient movement at depth.
Your training includes at least eight open water dives focusing on:
Accelerated Deco: Executing dives with up to 30 minutes of mandatory stops.
Deep Exploration: Applying your skills in a realistic, extended-range environment.
Problem Solving: Managing simulated failures and maintaining team protocols at depth.
Operational Safety: Using a multi-gas switch computer for safe profile management.

Max Depth: 50m / 165ft.
Deco Limit: Maximum 30 minutes of accelerated decompression.
Gas Mixes: Air, Nitrox, and Oxygen (up to 100% $O_2$ for accelerated decompression).
PO2 Limits: Max PO2 for back gas is 1.4; accelerated deco gas is 1.6.
Gas Reserve: Divers must maintain robust planning procedures for deep diving reserves.
The 50m certification is the foundation upon which all future technical diving achievements are built. From here, you can progress to:
➜ Normoxic Trimix Diver (60m)
➜ Hypoxic Trimix Diver (80–100m)
➜ Full expedition-level mixed gas pathways
Your instructor trains you directly on the same configuration dive gear as you'll be diving. All confined and open-water sessions are closely supervised for safety, mastery, and confidence-building. Stuart’s instruction blends disciplined skill development with the confidence-building mentorship required for advanced technical exploration.
