The Divesoft Liberty is one of the most advanced, modular and fault-tolerant CCR systems available today. With its sidemount configuration, redundant electronics, and unmatched diagnostic capabilities, the Liberty gives divers exceptional stability, streamline, and safety for challenging overhead, expedition and technical dives.
The RAID Liberty CCR program teaches you how to dive the Liberty safely and efficiently, progressing from no-decompression CCR diving through to full staged decompression using Nitrox, Normoxic Trimix or Hypoxic Trimix depending on your level.
Planned Decompression Mastery: Learn to schedule, conduct and manage decompression dives using Air/Nitrox (MOD1) or Trimix (MOD2/MOD3).
Optimal Efficiency: Take advantage of the Liberty’s sidemount balance, low-profile design, and outstanding work of breathing.
Unit-Specific Mastery: Become proficient with Liberty diagnostics, electronics redundancy, dual handsets, pre-dive checks, and advanced failure protocols.
Streamlined & Stable Diving: Experience the unmatched trim and stability unique to the Liberty sidemount platform.
Expedition Capability: Prepare for advanced exploration dives such as caves, mines, and deep open-water missions with the Liberty’s world-class reliability.
You’ll develop all the skills, confidence and discipline required to dive the Liberty Sidemount CCR safely and effectively at your chosen MOD level. Training focuses on:
Full Liberty CCR assembly & dual electronics configuration
Liberty pre-dive checklists, calibration & diagnostics
Loop management, buoyancy & sidemount-specific trim
Manual & automatic O₂ control, set-point transitions
Diluent use, ADV behavior & loop flushing
Bailout planning & sidemount bailout cylinder deployment
Liberty-specific fault management & emergency procedures
Stage handling (MOD2/MOD3)
Decompression planning with Air/Nitrox/Trimix
Hypoxic bailout strategies and deep failure responses (MOD3)
Available Levels:
MOD1: Deco 40m or Limited Trimix 45m
MOD2: Normoxic Trimix 60m
MOD3: Hypoxic Trimix 80–100m

To enrol, you must:
Be at least 18 years old
Be a certified CCR diver with a recognised training agency
Hold the appropriate existing level for the crossover you want:
MOD1 crossover: Existing CCR certification to at least 30–40m level
MOD2 crossover: Existing Normoxic Trimix CCR certification
MOD3 crossover: Existing Hypoxic Trimix CCR certification
RAID Standards require that a certified rebreather diver crossing over to a new unit completes the RAID Core Rebreather Program and a unit-specific Specialty, and demonstrates all skills to the level sought before certification is awarded.
Training is delivered personally by Stuart Girdler, RAID CCR Instructor Trainer & Examiner, ensuring your training meets RAID standards while preparing you for real-world Liberty diving. Your structure three stage progression:
Complete the RAID Core CCR academics and MOD1-level skills verification on the JJ-CCR:
Liberty assembly, calibration & diagnostics
Pre-breathe & pre-dive checklist execution
Basic loop control & buoyancy in sidemount trim
Manual O₂ control & set-point management
Diluent flushes & ADV use
Basic bailout to open circuit
No-decompression dives up to 40 m (if not already certified)
Crossing at Normoxic level, you’ll complete a condensed RAID MOD2 verification:
Intermediate-depth Trimix use on the Liberty
Multilevel decompression planning & stop management
Increased task loading
Advanced bailout & off-board gas strategies
Liberty-specific failure drills at realistic MOD2 depths
Stage handling and long-duration decompression profiles
Crossing at Hypoxic level, this is where you complete your JJ-CCR deep-level evaluation:
Hypoxic Trimix procedures & deep set-point management
Deep decompression strategies & emergency gas options
Complex bailout execution and rescue scenarios
Electronic redundancy management at depth
Full MOD3-level skills sign-off according to RAID Standards
Instant access to your online learning, course preparation modules. Begin training immediately.

Depth Limits:
MOD1 up to 40 m
MOD2 up to 60 m (Normoxic Trimix)
MOD3 up to 80–100 m (Hypoxic Trimix)
Loop PO₂: Maximum planned PO₂ as prescribed by RAID Standards
Gases: Air, Nitrox and Trimix as permitted for MOD level
Skill Focus: General CCR skills plus Liberty unit-specific protocols
Certification: Valid for diving and maintaining the Liberty within your certified rating
Unit Use: Training and certification are unit-specific to the Liberty
Your Liberty Sidemount crossover is delivered personally by Stuart Girdler, RAID CCR Instructor Trainer & Examiner, with extensive experience across multiple CCR units. Stuart’s teaching philosophy prioritises:
Unit-Specific Competence: You leave the course knowing how to set up, troubleshoot and safely dive your Liberty Sidemount rebreather.
Bailout Readiness: Conservative, realistic bailout planning based on your gas consumption, dive objectives and depth.
Real-World Drills: Training dives and scenarios that mirror real failures and decision-making, not just scripted skills.
All training is conducted under direct supervision and in line with the RAID General Diving Standards for CCR diver and instructor ratios.
